The sun
is the prime mover of the wind, weather and tides,
forces that have reshaped the glacial debris of Cape
Cod. This picture also represents one of the themes
in this collection, the division of space into two
halves: earth/sky, or sea/sky. I found, while shooting
around the Outer Cape, that the square format of my
picture frame naturally lent itself to compositions
that were balanced by this bilateral division. This
photograph was taken at the foot of Mechanic Street
where I went to shoot the sun coming up over Beach
Point, but found that the most interesting view was
the one of more subtle colors towards Long Point.
